Ghost
Flash
Ghost +
Flash.
Ghost lets you walk through minions during a chase to keep auto-attacking. Flash is used to hop walls, finish enemies after E is down, or escape right before your ult ends. Check the enemy's mobility cooldowns and use spells one at a time. [01:37–01:45, 11:38–11:43, 18:09–18:14]
Mark of Attack Damage x9 /
Seal of Armor x9 /
Glyph of Scaling Cooldown Reduction x9 /
Quintessence of Attack Speed x3.
Totals: 9 AD, 9 Armor, 16.2% CDR at level 18, 13.5% Attack Speed. AD and AS stabilize your early auto attacks, Armor reduces damage from minions and AD laners. Scaling CDR reduces E and R downtime later. If you absolutely need early lane priority, you can swap the glyphs for flat AP to boost Q heal and E damage, but the standard all-purpose setup uses scaling CDR. [15:46–16:20, 18:53–19:29]

foggedftw2's Classic Top AD Tryndamere: How to Devour Camps with Statikk Shiv
An AD Tryndamere guide that shows how to keep farming waves and jungle camps even after getting ganked multiple times early, finish Statikk Shiv and Infinity Edge, and bring the game back through side lane pressure. Fight after stacking Fury, reduce Spinning Slash's cooldown with crits, and chase down your first target with Ghost and Flash.
Based on Tryndamere OTP foggedftw2's full guide from July 28, 2026.
Must-Read Updates for 16.18
Since the video was released, Tryndamere has been directly nerfed twice.
- Q max bonus AD: 40 → 24
- E base cooldown: 8s → 9s
- Passive max bonus crit chance: 50% → 30%, caps at 5% health
- R cooldown: 110/100/90s → 130/115/100s
So the risk of fighting early while low HP relying only on crits as shown in the video has increased. On the flip side, once you have the three crit items — Statikk Shiv, Infinity Edge, and Phantom Dancer — you get 75% item crit chance plus up to 30% from your passive, still hitting 100% crit at low HP. In the current patch, **reaching three core items and managing your ultimate is more important than early gambling**.
Quick Rundown
- Position: Top
- Summoner Spells: Ghost + Flash
- Runes: AD / Armor / Scaling CDR / Attack Speed
- Masteries: Offense 30 / Defense 0 / Utility 0
- Current skill order: Q → E → W, R at levels 6/11/16
- Aggressive variant from the video: Keep 1 point in R, max Q/E/W first
- Starting items: Doran's Shield + Health Potion
- Core: Berserker's Greaves + Statikk Shiv → Infinity Edge → Phantom Dancer
- Full build: Bloodthirster → Last Whisper, swap boots for Zephyr last
- Playstyle: Prioritize waves and camps over poking towers, push in side lanes before teamfights, secure an escape path with ult instead of going in at low HP

Grab everything: Attack Speed, CDR, Scaling AD and AP, Damage Increase, Crit Damage, Physical and Magic Pen, Executioner. Physical pen helps autos, magic pen helps E and Statikk Shiv damage. By default, skip Summoner's Wrath. If you choose Exhaust against something like Pantheon, you can move 1 point from Sorcery to Summoner's Wrath. [19:27–19:56]

Skill Order
Skill order Lv. 18The safe standard for 16.18 is max Q → max E → max W. Take Q at level 1, W at level 2, E at level 3, and R at levels 6/11/16.
Aggressive Order from the Video
The actual skill bar from the original game is **Q-W-E-Q-Q-R-Q-Q-E-E-E-E-W-W-W-W-R-R**. Max Q/E/W by level 16 while keeping only 1 point in R, then finish R at levels 17/18.
After the video, patch 26.17 increased R cooldown to 130/115/100s. Now being without your ult is more punishing, so the standard investment at 6/11/16 is recommended. Only use the video's order if you can consistently secure scaling CDR and blue buff.
Q: Build Fury First
Your passive crit chance scales with **missing health**, not Fury. Q gains Fury from kills and crits, increases AD and crit damage while you have Fury, and consumes Fury to heal when activated. Start Q at level 1 and build Fury on minions before fighting. The current max bonus AD is 24, not the 40 shown in the video. [00:17–01:21, 02:57–03:21]
W: Use It on Escaping Enemies
W reduces the attack damage of nearby enemies and slows only those facing away. You can use it early for damage reduction, but during a chase, use it the moment the enemy turns their back. Put one point at level 2.
E: Manage Both Entry and Escape
E deals magic damage along its path and can cross walls. Its current base cooldown is 9s, reduced by 2s per crit. Before three core items, E won't be back up quickly, so don't use it to engage if the enemy jungler is missing. [05:21–05:54]
R: It Doesn't Give Health After Expiry
Classic R doesn't restore any health after the duration ends. Heal with Q just before it ends, or create distance with E/Flash. Use it before the next big hit, not after you're already at 1 HP. [11:43–12:04]

2Starting Items and First Recall
Standard start is
Doran's Shield +
Health Potion. Doran's Shield soaks up early minion and auto harass, and the potion keeps you alive until first recall when you have no Fury.
If you get pressured early and have to recall, grab
Brawler's Gloves and a potion, then boots on the next recall. If you farm normally, build
Zeal and
Avarice Blade as Statikk Shiv components. The 900-gold
Berserker's Greaves is also a strong chase timing. [02:43–03:55, 06:59–07:15]
First Core: Statikk Shiv
Finish
Statikk Shiv first. You get 40% Attack Speed, 20% Crit Chance, and 6% Movement Speed. The 100-stack energized attack deals 100 base magic damage that bounces to four targets and can critically strike. It's a farming engine that lets you shove the lane in one go and rotate to camps, helping you recover from gank losses. [06:00–06:51]
Don't Hold Avarice Blade Too Long
The bonus gold from
Avarice Blade is tempting, but delaying completion means missing out on the waves, camps, and kills you would have gotten from Statikk Shiv. Don't just look at the gold number; consider the value of clearing faster and farming more with the completed item. If you can buy it on a recall, finish Statikk Shiv. [07:18–08:26]
Second Core: Infinity Edge
Second item is
Infinity Edge. It's expensive at 3800 gold but gives 70 AD, 25% Crit Chance, and 250% Crit Damage. Farm lane minions and nearby camps until you have enough for B.F. Sword. In the original video, after multiple ganks, he farmed instead of fighting to recover the purchase timing. [10:42–11:30, 14:54–15:20]
After Three Cores
Third item is
Phantom Dancer. You get 50% Attack Speed, 30% Crit Chance, 5% Movement Speed, and the ghosting effect. Combined with Statikk Shiv and Infinity Edge, item crit chance totals 75%, and when your health gets low enough for your passive to grant up to 30%, you still exceed 100% crit chance in the current patch.
The rest of the build order:
1.
The Bloodthirster: Completes side lane sustain with AD and lifesteal. Avoid risky dives to keep stacks.
2.
Last Whisper: Ignores 35% of the target's armor, keeping your auto damage relevant against tanks and bruisers who build armor.
3. In the ultra-late game when slots are full, sell Berserker's Greaves and swap to
Zephyr. It gives Attack Speed, Movement Speed, Cooldown Reduction, and Tenacity all in one. [18:38–18:50]
If the enemy team stacks very little armor and mobility is more important, you can consider
Youmuu's Ghostblade before Last Whisper. However, the video's standard build finishes with Phantom Dancer, Bloodthirster, Last Whisper, and Zephyr.
Laning Phase
Level 1 Is Not About Pretending to Be Weak—You Genuinely Need to Be Prepared
Starting Q means you have no mobility, so the enemy can pressure you from the first minion. Don't take free damage and fight without Fury. Instead, last hit and auto minions to build Fury, then secure both the chance to crit and Q's heal.
Classic minions hit noticeably harder than modern Summoner's Rift minions. The creator estimates they deal about 30% more damage. Don't step forward hoping for one crit when the enemy has many minions left. Only go for extended trades when the wave sizes are even or you have more minions. [00:58–02:18]
Don't Rush Vampiric Scepter for Q Heal
A fully stacked Q originally healed for about 400 HP, reaching 417 with a small amount of AP from runes. If you heal with Q just before clearing a wave, and quickly rebuild Fury through last hits and crits, you can sustain on the lane and camps without any lifesteal. So there's no need to delay Statikk Shiv to buy Vampiric Scepter first. [12:21–13:16]
When Ganked, Look for Recovery Paths First
In the original video, he was repeatedly ganked by Evelynn. If he didn't have HP to fight, he used E to disengage and recall, then instead of revenge-diving, he chained a wave → nearby camp → next wave. He recovered using Q heals and Statikk Shiv clearing to eat gold across the entire map.
Example Matchup: Gangplank
The opponent in the video is Gangplank. Classic Gangplank's Q can also crit on its bonus damage, and he can stack his passive poison slow with multiple autos, so a Fury-less Tryndamere loses if he runs in blindly.
- First wave: Build Fury with Q.
- If you force the enemy's Ignite/Flash and survive, use Ghost on the next trade.
- Don't use E to engage if the jungler is missing.
- When the enemy turns their back, chase with W and Ghost.
Conversely, the creator explains that from Gangplank's perspective, the correct play is to use Ignite and pressure Tryndamere before he builds Fury. That's how important early Fury management is in this matchup. [01:26–01:56, 04:51–05:17, 13:50–14:22]
Waves and Camps over Turrets
Classic has no turret plates. You don't get personal gold for hitting the tower a few times in a short window, so if you can clear a wave and a nearby camp instead, prioritize the XP and guaranteed gold.
The standard cycle is: shove the wave all the way in, take golems or an enemy jungle camp, then loop back for the next wave. The exception is when you can definitely destroy the turret. Destroying a Classic turret gives 150 gold and XP to the entire team, so a confirmed demolition is a big reward that helps everybody. [10:17–10:44, 13:18–13:37]
Side Lane Management and Teamfights
Draw Two Enemies to the Side Lane
Use Statikk Shiv to instantly clear the wave, then rotate with E to eat enemy camps. If only one enemy shows up, check your Fury and ult availability and pressure them. If two or more appear, hop a wall with E and let your team take objectives on the other side. Because of the global gold from tower destruction, side lane pressure alone can grow your team's lead.
Enter Fights Only After Picking a Target and an Escape Route
1. Push the side wave first to force one enemy to rotate.
2. If you need to join a front-to-back fight, pick a squishy carry or a target who has burned their mobility.
3. Use W when the target turns their back, Ghost to cut through minions and the frontline.
4. If you engaged with E, calculate how fast your crits will refund the next E.
5. Always save either Q heal, Flash, or E escape before your ult expires.
With the passive crit cap now lowered to 30%, early low-health outplays are less consistent than in the video. Before you have three crit items, it's more important to secure a kill and get out during your ult than to keep hitting at 1 HP.
Common Mistakes
- Starting long trades at level 1 without Fury.
- Using E to engage while the enemy jungler is unaccounted for.
- Delaying Statikk Shiv completion because you're eyeing Avarice Blade's bonus gold.
- In a mode without turret plates, obsessing over a few turret hits and missing camps and the next wave.
- Thinking R gives health after it ends, so you blow both Q and your escape.
- Confusing the video's 50% passive crit and 110s R with current numbers.
- After losing to early ganks, trying to recover only through fighting instead of farming.
- Selling boots too early and losing movespeed before finishing Zephyr.
One-Line Summary
**Avoid fights without Fury, use Statikk Shiv to farm waves and camps simultaneously to reach three crit items, then draw two enemies to the side lane and survive with Ghost, Flash, and ult—that's the winning formula for Classic AD Tryndamere.**
