In the late game, prioritise defensive items like Zhonya's Hourglass or Guardian Angel to survive his burst damage.

Tip

Ryze will have a hard time managing mana after a couple of skill combos as they have a high mana cost. Laning against Ryze is not difficult if Zed contests lane. However, be careful of being caught by Ryze’s full nuking combo as he does a lot of burst damage.
